Chateau Montplaisir
Château Montplaisir: A Legacy of Organic Excellence in the Rhône Valley
Nestled in the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley, Château Montplaisir is an artisan, family-run estate dedicated to crafting organic wines that express the rich terroir of Vinsobres and Côtes du Rhône Villages. With 14 hectares of vineyards, situated at 500 meters altitude near Mont Ventoux, the estate benefits from a unique combination of pebbly and red clay soils that contribute to the elegance and complexity of its wines.
Château Montplaisir’s commitment to sustainability and organic viticulture is at the core of its winemaking philosophy. Certified organic by Ecocert, the estate practices low-yield cultivation, manual harvesting, and minimal intervention, allowing the vines to thrive naturally. Winemaking follows traditional methods, including indigenous yeast fermentation, careful aging in stainless steel, large oak barrels, or acacia wood for whites, and minimal sulfites to preserve purity.
Producing fresh, balanced, and award-winning wines, Château Montplaisir has earned accolades from Wine Enthusiast, Decanter, and Andreas Larsson. The estate’s wines—such as Hauts Galets and Expressions from Cru Vinsobres, Safres from Côtes du Rhône Villages, and the aromatic Eclats White—showcase the depth, structure, and finesse of the region.
Beyond its exceptional wines, Château Montplaisir offers a charming 17th-century private hotel, newly renovated to welcome wine lovers and travelers looking to explore the rich history and terroir of the Rhône Valley.
At Château Montplaisir, every bottle tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for nature—from vineyard to glass.
