Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG differs from regular Prosecco DOC primarily in its location, Prosecco DOC grapes grow in a very large, flat area that spans the provinces of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia (over 89,000 acres or 36,000 ha). Whereas Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG is tiny, just 8710 ha, and very hilly. The cool mountain breezes and ample sunshine allow the grapes to ripen with balance producing a prosecco with a distinct finesse.
